An Indeed profile photo is optional, can be added only in the Indeed job search app, and, according to Indeed's Help Center, is not visible to employers. The file can be JPG, PNG or HEIC under 30 MB. This guide covers those rules and what can get a photo removed.

What Indeed Removes
Indeed's photo policy asks you to "use a photo that's focused on your face and a professional representation of yourself". It says not to include other people, and not to upload photos that misrepresent you.
Photos can also be removed for QR codes or links, sensitive personal information, or being blurry. If your photo disappears, check it against these rules and upload a clearer one.
Photos on Resumes Are a Different Question
Your Indeed profile photo is separate from your resume. Indeed's career advice notes that resumes in the United States are usually sent without a photo, while some other countries expect one.
Because Indeed's photo policy asks for a photo that doesn't misrepresent you, use a recent headshot that looks like you today.
